By accessing or using BookHomeServices.ca ("the Website"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Website.

2. Description of Service

BookHomeServices.ca is a directory platform that helps consumers find home services providers in Canada. We provide business listings, ratings, contact information, and related services. We are not a service provider and do not provide professional advice.

3. User Responsibilities

3.1 General Users (Visitors)

  • You may browse the directory and use contact information provided to connect with businesses.
  • You agree not to scrape, crawl, or automated data collection from the Website without prior written consent.
  • You agree not to use the Website for any unlawful purpose.

3.2 Business Owners (Claimed Listings)

  • You must be authorized to represent the business you are claiming.
  • Information you provide must be accurate and current.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the accuracy of your listing information.
  • You agree not to post misleading, false, or deceptive content.
  • You agree to comply with all applicable laws and professional licensing requirements relevant to your business and services.

4. Business Listings

4.1 Listing Information

Business listings are compiled from publicly available sources including Google Places API and public business directories. We make reasonable efforts to ensure accuracy but do not guarantee the completeness or accuracy of any listing.

4.2 Listing Removal

Business owners may request removal of their listing at any time by contacting us. We will process removal requests within 24 hours.

4.3 Claim Verification

The claim process verifies email access, not business ownership. We reserve the right to reject or revoke claims that appear fraudulent.

5. Subscription Services

Listing a business and claiming a listing are free. Paid plans with enhanced listing features are optional.

Payments and cancellations

  • Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually through Stripe, in Canadian dollars (CAD) plus applicable taxes.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date.
  • You can cancel at any time from your dashboard. Your plan stays active until the end of the current billing period and will not renew.
  • Payments are non-refundable, including for partial billing periods, except where required by law.

6. Intellectual Property

The Website's design, code, text content, and branding are the property of BookHomeServices.ca. Business listing information sourced from Google Places API is subject to Google's terms. User-submitted content (descriptions, photos) remains the property of the submitter, with a license granted to BookHomeServices.ca for display purposes.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE WEBSITE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. We do not warrant that:

  • Listing information is accurate, complete, or current.
  • Any provider listed is licensed, insured, qualified, or suitable for your needs.
  • The Website will be uninterrupted or error-free.

You are responsible for verifying provider credentials and qualifications before booking services. Check that the provider holds the licences, permits and insurance required for the work they offer.

8. Limitation of Liability

BookHomeServices.ca shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Website or reliance on any information provided, including any damages resulting from interactions with businesses listed on the Website.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Ontario.

10. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Website after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
